Forensic Science student wins Miss Bradford title :
Paola Mereu (22) a student from Bradford has just won the title of Miss Bradford 2008 beating off tough competition from 19 other girls.

Paola who already has a degree in Forensic and Medical science is currently studying for her Masters degree in Bradford. She plays basketball and is also a good swimmer and speaks 4 languages including Italian, French, Spanish and English. Paola has also worked for the Italian Red Cross when she was just 16 and wants to go to a third world county to help out where she can.
Paola will now represent Bradford in the Miss England semi final on the 16th & 17th June at Champneys health resort.

Vows to use Miss Bradford title to warn against Speeding and Driving under the influence of substances such as alcohol and drugs.
Paola wants to use her Miss Bradford title to warn people about the consequences that derive from speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Paola’s own father was killed by a driver exceeding the speed limit by double the amount who was also over the alcohol limit. She wants to highlight the sadness it has brought against her family. “I feel very honoured to represent Bradford in Miss England, my ambition is to be the best I can become in whatever I choose to do. My father always encouraged me to do things that I enjoyed and he would be so proud of me now ” says Paola .
